STRESS-SKIN
PANELS are composites of high modulus skins bonded to lower
modulus cores which produce panels with innovative design and structural
integrity for the 21st century designer. Theses sandwich panels
work for you! As a Panel Specialist our wide range of
capabilities provide a custom panel with engineered performance
to meet your exacting criteria.
VERSATILITY
Custom bonding
capabilities with panel sizes of 5 feet wide by 20 feet long or
8 feet wide by 12 feet long, in thicknesses from .25 to 8.
QUALITY
Our performance
standard is zero defects.
FIRE
RATING
Isocyanurate
insulating materials in Newply panels have a Flame Spread rating
of 25 or less and a Smoke Developed rating of 450 according to Underwriters
Laboratories Report No. R4777 and Factory Mutual Research KBO Report
N. PFC 3411.
INSULATION
VALUES
The Heat Transmission
Coefficient btu/hr/sqft/F varies with the thickness
and the composition of the insulation materials.
- CELLULAR
POLYSTYRENE is available in densities of 1.6 to 1.9 lbs/ PFC
and has a minimum shear strength of 20 lbs/PSI.
- CLOSED-CELL
POLYURETHANE is available in densities of 1.9 to 2.2 lbs/PFC
and has a minimum tensile strength of 30lbs/PSI plus a minimum
shear strength of 20lbs/PSI.
- ISOCYANURATE
is available in densities of1.8 to 2.3 lbs/PFC and has a minimum
tensile strength of 30 lbs/PSI plus a minimum shear strength of
24 lbs/PSI.
Note: Selection
of alternative insulation systems will result in different overall
thickness for the same C value and different fire resistive ratings.
Allowable
Tolerances
- Size and
thickness:
Width and length (+)(-) 1/8 inch
- Thickness
(+)(-) 1/16 inch
- Squareness:
The diagonal deviation across a 50 x 18 0
panel will not be more than (+)(-) 1/4 inch.
- Flatness:
Deviation in the flatness of the aluminum facing will not exceed
0.015 inch when measured using a six inch rule with the panel
laying on a flat surface at 70?.
Extruded
& Formed Shapes
Structural connections,
corners, copings, sills, trim, and other manufactured using the
same material, gauge, or thickness and finish as the panels used
in a project and of profile to suit the system. Each shape is brake
formed or shop cut and factory mitered to the required angles. Expansion
joints can be formed or manufactured in the same manner.
Delivery
& Storage
Delivery of
materials should be made in the manufacturers original containers
that are clearly labeled to indicate contents. The panels should
be stored in a dry easily accessible space, protected from damage,
and neatly stacked on drainage.
